This painting looks tridimensional and has a lot of heavy textures
RAW SPAN presents oversized geometric and organic forms colliding at the center, creating tension through scale and contrast, rendered at an exaggerated scale that fills the canvas.
Thick palette knife strokes build ridges, edges, and layered surfaces that give the paint a sculptural quality.
The composition balances raw energy with controlled structure.

At the center of its charged field, Raw Span holds a dark, irregular core within a widening ring of yellow, making the image feel less like a fixed emblem than a force under pressure. Its oversized forms press toward one another without settling into a single reading. The surrounding divisions suggest a structure being tested from within - ordered enough to hold, yet too energized to remain still.
The composition’s brightness gathers around the center, while deeper passages draw the eye outward and back again. This movement gives the work a sense of internal weather, where expansion and resistance occur at once. The central form may read as a threshold, a contained silence, or simply the point at which opposing energies become visible. Its drama lies in that unresolved balance, allowing the image to remain open without becoming vague.
