MIRRORED MARKET MAZE - Oil Painting On Canvas By Leonid Afremov

Between ordinary commerce and waking fantasy, Mirrored Market Maze turns a crowded passage into a threshold where daily movement seems to open onto another order of experience. The market draws people inward, yet the immense forms suspended above it make the destination feel unstable, as if the crowd were entering a shared vision rather than simply passing through.

The two dragon-like presences do not settle into a single meaning. They may suggest guardians, distractions, or the imaginative force released when many lives gather in one place. Their scale presses against the human traffic below, giving the scene a charged uncertainty: is the crowd witnessing these figures, or moving beneath a drama it has created together?

Warm illumination from the stalls gathers around the walkers, while the central way recedes into cooler light. That movement gives the work its emotional rhythm. Familiar exchange and fleeting encounters belong to the foreground; beyond them lies an opening that feels less like an arrival than an invitation to keep going.

The market therefore becomes a meeting ground between the tangible and the legendary. Bundled figures remain partly indistinct, allowing no single story to claim them, while the luminous corridor holds the possibility of countless crossings. What endures is the sense that wonder has entered public life without interrupting its restless momentum.
