Walk with Dog

Salutary leisure  

Leonid Afremov's painting is called Walking with Dog. And indeed we see an autumn park and a girl with a dog walking along the alley flooded with the light of evening lanterns. The city is painted in the brightest autumn colors and of course due to the peculiarities of this time of year the yellow shades predominate. Their brightness is enhanced by the lanterns standing along the sidewalk and, as always, the artist uses his signature technique which consists in depicting the glossy surface of the pavement – the tile glitters after rain in shimmering yellow and burgundy shades. We also find a reflection of turquoise hues, the main cluster of which is right above the head of the girl’s with a dog – the artist depicted the sky in the form of bright strokes colored in:

• Turquoise
• Violet
• Yellow
• Orange

So the girl can only be envied because she is surrounded by fabulous colors that we can hardly find in a regular city. Despite the walk she is dressed quite formally and it is clear that she has just come home from work and did not even have time to change her clothes and went for a walk with the dog.
