TEMPLE IN THE FOG - Oil Painting On Canvas By Leonid Afremov

Suspended between danger and refuge, Temple in the Fog imagines sanctuary as something reached only by crossing uncertainty. The distant temple does not offer easy arrival; it rests beyond a narrow passage, lifted above a depth that seems to erase ordinary ground. Its presence feels less like a destination than a test of attention, asking whether safety can remain meaningful when access is precarious.

Warm flames trace the walkway through the surrounding blue haze, giving the journey a human scale without making it secure. They suggest guidance, but also vigilance - small assurances held against an immense and shifting world. The temple’s open darkness leaves its promise unresolved, allowing welcome and mystery to occupy the same space.

As the rocky forms recede into mist, the scene becomes a meditation on separation: between the known and the unreachable, exposure and shelter, courage and hesitation. The suspended chains reinforce that fragile connection, while the elevated structure retains a solemn stillness above it all. What endures here is not certainty, but the charged possibility of moving forward without knowing what waits beyond the threshold.
