This painting looks tridimensional and has a lot of heavy textures
SPLIT VOLUME presents oversized geometric and organic forms colliding at the center, creating tension through scale and contrast, rendered at an exaggerated scale that fills the canvas.
Thick palette knife strokes build ridges, edges, and layered surfaces that give the paint a sculptural quality.
The composition balances raw energy with controlled structure.

At the point where opposing forces meet, Split Volume turns abstraction into a study of pressure, balance, and withheld release. Its interlocking forms seem to lean against one another without settling into a single order, while the open space at the center preserves a moment of uncertainty. The work feels less like a resolved structure than a system caught in the act of rearranging itself.
Diagonal movement gives the composition its charged rhythm, carrying the eye across tilted planes and abrupt overlaps. A pale turquoise form rises against the darker field, while warmer passages gather toward the upper reach, creating the impression of forces emerging from shadow. Nothing reads as fixed or wholly separate; each shape gains significance through its collision with the next.
The dark central opening acts as more than a pause. It draws the surrounding forms inward, suggesting depth that is psychological as much as spatial - a pressure chamber where clarity and confusion briefly coexist. The vivid contrasts bring energy, yet the irregular edges keep that energy from becoming triumphant. What remains is an atmosphere of transformation, suspended between fracture and cohesion.
