INFINITE SILENCE - Oil Painting On Canvas By Leonid Afremov

Between shadowed banks and a distant opening, Infinite Silence draws attention toward a stillness that feels gathered rather than empty. The water carries the eye inward, beyond the immediate shelter of trees and toward mountains softened by haze. Its calm is not entirely passive; the narrowing passage suggests a movement away from interruption, into a place where thought can lengthen and settle.

The pale reflection beneath the light gives that inward passage a fragile direction. It does not announce revelation so much as make room for it, holding the possibility that clarity may arrive gradually, through sustained attention rather than sudden change. The surrounding darkness keeps the scene from becoming merely idyllic, preserving a sense of depth and reserve.

At the edges, small flowers emerge from the grasses without disturbing the larger hush. They bring the landscape close to the viewer while the valley remains elusive, suspended between nearness and distance. The work’s serenity therefore feels earned by restraint: an invitation to remain with what is unresolved, where silence becomes less an absence of sound than a form of presence.
