FLAME OF PEACE - Oil Painting On Canvas By Leonid Afremov

At the heart of this rising botanical abstraction, Flame of Peace holds vitality and stillness in a charged balance. Its central glow gathers the force of a flame without reducing that force to destruction; instead, the upward movement suggests renewal, attention, and a form of calm that has survived intensity. The surrounding forms seem to shelter the brightness while allowing it to expand.

The composition builds its energy through a gradual opening of pointed leaves or petals, as though a single inner impulse were becoming many directions at once. A slender orange form reaching toward the right introduces a slight departure from the central ascent, giving the work a sense of unfolding rather than symmetry. Fine pale lines within the forms lend the surrounding color fields an organic rhythm, like thought returning in recurring patterns.

What makes the image compelling is its refusal to separate radiance from darkness. Deep blues, teals, purples, and greens press close to the warm center, not as an opposing force but as the condition that makes its luminosity feel earned. The result is an abstract emblem of peace as active presence - vivid, watchful, and continually gathering itself toward the light.
