This painting looks tridimensional and has a lot of heavy textures
GENTLE FORM explores a reduced composition built from sparse shapes, fading into broken color patches, etched with contrasting tones through layered palette knife textures and sculptural strokes.
Bold impasto ridges catch shifting light, while scraped passages reveal underlying hues and tonal variation.
The composition invites close viewing, highlighting movement, contrast, and expressive material presence.

Within its measured field, Gentle Form 2 turns restraint into a study of balance, where elongated forms gather without settling into a fixed object or scene. The central arrangement feels held in suspension, its pale foundation lending calm to the darker passages and the rising burnt-orange element introducing a restrained note of movement. The work’s gentleness lies less in softness than in the way contrasting shapes remain in quiet accord.
Across the horizontal cluster, white and cream forms establish a sense of support, while brown, muted blue, and rust draw attention toward the spaces between them. These intervals matter as much as the forms themselves: they allow the composition to breathe, suggesting an order that is provisional rather than imposed. The result is earthy and contemplative, but never static.
The upward angle near the center subtly interrupts the composition’s repose, as though an inward pressure has found a temporary direction. Nothing resolves into a single emblem or narrative; instead, the work holds together through measured tensions between weight and lift, enclosure and openness. Its atmosphere rewards sustained attention to what remains unresolved within the balance.
