GENTLE FORM explores a reduced composition built from sparse shapes, pressed into stark contrast, cast in rugged knife impressions through layered palette knife textures and sculptural strokes.
Bold impasto ridges catch shifting light, while scraped passages reveal underlying hues and tonal variation.
The composition invites close viewing, highlighting movement, contrast, and expressive material presence.

Against an open field of pale intervals, Gentle Form 3 develops a meditation on restraint and gathering, where quiet expanses meet denser passages without resolving into a fixed image. Its reduced language allows the eye to move between stillness and pressure, as though a thought were taking shape while remaining deliberately incomplete. The work feels less concerned with declaring an answer than with holding attention in a suspended state.
Near the center, the meeting of ochre, yellow, pink, and deeper violet introduces a concentrated warmth within the otherwise softened atmosphere. This cluster can read as an arrival, though not a final one; its surrounding fragments keep the composition in motion, suggesting that coherence may be temporary and continually revised. The horizontal rhythm lends the work a measured pace, while the interruptions beneath it prevent that calm from becoming passive.
What remains is an abstract space shaped by degrees of nearness and distance. Lavender and muted green passages temper the central intensity, while the pale upper area preserves a sense of air and possibility. The downward marks at the lower edge subtly unsettle the balance, hinting at movement beyond the visible field and leaving the composition poised between settling and release.
