DREAMING CROWN - FRAMED

A concealed identity and ceremonial presence meet in Dreaming Crown, where authority appears less like a possession than a role suspended between revelation and disguise. The figure faces us directly, yet the face remains withheld beneath an extravagant crown, turning recognition into the central tension of the work. What seems regal is also strangely vulnerable: the visible neck and shoulders suggest a person carrying an image of power without fully inhabiting it.

The crown gathers the brightest attention, its pointed silhouette rising against a pale opening in the surrounding darkness. Jewel-like colors move through it with the intensity of imagined splendour, but the profusion feels dreamlike rather than securely official. It could belong to a monarch, a performer, or to a private self briefly trying on an impossible certainty.

Around the figure, deep blue and teal tones create an atmosphere that feels inward and nocturnal. The darkness does not simply conceal; it gives the central presence room to become ambiguous. Without a visible expression to guide us, the work leaves dignity, solitude, and theatricality in close proximity, allowing each reading to alter the others.

The highlighted clothing beneath the crown extends this uncertainty downward, suggesting that grandeur is assembled not only above the head but also in the posture that supports it. The result is a poised encounter with self-invention - a vision of someone who may be protected by splendour, or quietly searching for the face that splendour has hidden.
