Clockwork Dreams - Oil Painting On Canvas By Leonid Afremov

Above the sleeping village, Clockwork Dreams turns time into a luminous disturbance, suspended between ordinary night and the logic of reverie. The great yellow clock does not simply measure passing hours; its fixed hands seem to hold the sky in an enchanted pause, while the winged figures suggest a force moving beyond any human schedule.

The smaller pale horse-like figure, enclosed within a circular glow, feels close to a vision glimpsed through sleep - present, yet difficult to reach. Its larger counterpart rises across the darkness with lifted forelegs and golden wings, bringing a sense of release that remains wonderfully uncertain: escape, arrival, or the sudden appearance of an impossible guardian.

Below, the white house and neighboring buildings offer a grounded counterpoint to this celestial disturbance. Their clustered windows and chimneys imply a settled life continuing beneath events no one below can fully understand, while the winding path gives the eye a modest route through the otherwise fantastical scene.

Scattered starbursts punctuate the deep blue sky like signals from a private language. Against them, the clock's vivid face becomes less a symbol of control than a reminder that dreams reorganize familiar things without erasing them. The village remains recognizable, but its night has opened into a place where time, home, and flight briefly occupy the same story.
