This painting looks tridimensional and has a lot of heavy textures
CHARGED LAYER presents large abstract shapes dominating the canvas, thick sweeping forms overlapping with strong directional movement, rendered at an exaggerated scale that fills the canvas.
Thick palette knife strokes build ridges, edges, and layered surfaces that give the paint a sculptural quality.
The composition balances raw energy with controlled structure.

Across its restless field, Charged Layer turns movement into a form of thought, where force gathers, collides, and briefly finds direction. The image refuses a settled center, yet its sweeping diagonals create an underlying sense of passage - as if energy were being pushed forward before it can become still. A vivid band of pink and magenta intensifies this feeling, opening a current through the darker surrounding forms.
That momentum is tempered by moments of composure. Pale passages near the center and lower right interrupt the deeper blues, not as a pause from the drama but as another register within it. Their presence suggests clarity arriving unevenly, appearing between pressures rather than overcoming them. The work holds this tension without resolving it, allowing brightness and obscurity to remain equally active.
What emerges is less an image of an external world than a concentrated encounter with change itself. The overlapping directions seem to preserve several impulses at once - expansion, resistance, return - while the luminous accents keep the composition from closing in on itself. Its vitality lies in that unstable balance, where order feels hard-won and never entirely complete.
