CAT AND STRANGENESS

CAT AND STRANGENESS — A pale orange-and-cream cat anchors this vivid vertical composition, gazing outward from a field of electric blue, turquoise, yellow, orange, red, magenta, violet, white, cream, and black. Its warm, pale-gold coat is accented with deeper orange and brown, creating a gentle focal point amid an energetic burst of color.

Thick, short, directional strokes and overlapping patches give the surface an expressive, tactile presence. Above the cat, a loosely defined face-like form emerges within a densely painted abstract environment, surrounded by small red-orange circular accents. Sweeping diagonal marks and layered shapes radiate through the middle and upper areas, while a pale curved form arcs across the lower center. Strong contrasts between luminous yellow and white passages and deep blue, violet, and black strokes heighten the intense, surreal mood. White handwritten text appears near the lower-right edge, adding another graphic note to the composition.

With its playful subject and boldly unconventional surroundings, this artwork brings a spirited contemporary accent to a gallery wall, reading area, studio, or eclectic living space. The recognizable cat offers an inviting point of entry, while the abstract face-like form, vivid contrasts, and visible brushwork reward closer viewing. It suits interiors that welcome expressive color, imaginative atmosphere, and a sense of visual surprise.
