ZEN FOREST LACE - Oil Painting On Canvas By Leonid Afremov

A woodland of ordered mystery, Zen Forest Lace invites the eye into a space where stillness is built from intricate divisions. Dark trunks rise in close succession, separating the blue expanse into irregular openings that feel less like windows than moments of attention. The forest does not offer a path through it; instead, it holds the gaze within its layered rhythm, suspended between recognition and abstraction.

The repeated loops and small circles among the branches give the scene an almost woven coherence. Their quiet insistence suggests that the natural world is being encountered not as a distant view, but as a pattern too rich to grasp all at once. Blue carries the atmosphere toward serenity, while the near-black branching forms keep that serenity from becoming empty or weightless.

At the lower edge, the vertical trunks establish a measured cadence, yet the upper network remains irregular and alive. This tension allows the work to feel both sheltered and boundless - a place where order does not resolve complexity, but gives it room to unfold. Its contemplation comes through sustained looking, as each enclosed shape opens onto another interval of the same expansive silence.
