WOMAN AND HER SHADOW - FRAMED

A passing figure becomes a study in divided presence, where the self seems to acquire a second life in motion. Woman and Her Shadow turns an ordinary walk into a playful encounter between the person who moves and the shape that follows, enlarging presence into something stranger and less obedient. The figure’s leftward direction suggests departure, yet the expansive silhouette remains behind, holding the moment open.

The shadow does not merely repeat the woman; it stretches her into a more theatrical possibility. Its exaggerated head and elongated limbs lend the scene a gentle absurdity, as if private identity could briefly escape its usual proportions. Against the muted wall, the teal dress and rust-red accents preserve the human warmth of the figure while the dark projection introduces a note of uncertainty.

There is also a tension between companionship and separation here. The woman carries her small bag with purposeful ease, while her shadow claims the greater reach across wall and pavement. Together they suggest the versions of ourselves that accompany daily life without being fully understood - familiar, attached, and occasionally more expressive than the body that casts them.
