about this painting:

Whitney Houston

The queen of the scene

Leonid Afremov often chooses famous personalities – singers, musicians, athletes – as the characters for their paintings. So, in the painting Whitney Houston, this colorful artwork, we see one of the most successful singers of our time. Like in many other Leonid’s paintings, she is depicted in the middle of a real vortex of colors – she is surrounded by a background consisting of smears of all the colors of the rainbow – blue, violet, pink, turquoise, yellow, orange.  The outline of the singer's face is depicted quite clearly. But still the image that presents us Leonid is somewhat at odds with the real one. The girl in the painting doesn’t have any African-American features – we have a girl with clearly European appearance, and besides, she is a blonde. Her mouth is slightly opened and we see 32 white teeth. It seems it produces  a familiar melody and if you come a little closer you can hear it. Her eyes lightly surrounded by mascara are looking at us with a slight touch of sadness. Light, slightly disheveled hair envelops her face with a light bush. We descend below and see a bare breast. The breeches of a light dress slip slightly revealing some intimate parts of our heroine's figure to our gaze. We barely see her hands as well as the lower part of her body - they are flooded with multicolored strokes.

This amazing Whitney

Witney is not only a singer, she is also an  actress and all her fans remember her main role in the movie "The Bodyguard" and numerous musical compositions, among which the most famous is the ballad “I Will Always Love You” (“I Will Always Love You”). We decided to recall the most interesting facts from her life:

  1. Whitney was born in a family of musicians. The influence of genes was very intense. Therefore, the little Whitney's mom would have been very surprised if she would have said she did not want to sing – she was a member of the vocal group, and from the very birth Whitney sang. At first it was church singing. The first solo performance of young Whitney in the church was the composition "O You, Great Jehovah."
  2. She became the first color model in the early 1980s having made a sensation in the modeling business. She became one of the first colored women, whose photos were printed by famous glossy publications - Glamour and Cosmopolitan.
  3. Whitney preferred school to recording. She began receiving proposals from the age of 13. But her mother responded refused to the agents, since her girl must first finish high school.

And now you have a unique opportunity to order this amazing portrait at a bargain price and enjoy the image of the famous singer every day.

Received my painting yesterday and I am absolutely delighted - couldn't be happier!! It arrived well packaged and unmarked and in 24 hours I have had so many positive reactions. The colours are amazing and it now has pride of place on my living room wall - I have already ordered another - thank you so much!!

I'm a retired jazz trombonist. The essence of jazz is improvisation. Improvisation is the ability to look at a thing from a different perspective each time you look at it. That is what the pallet knife wielding Mr. Leonid Afremov does with his recreations. I have the pleasure of waking each morning and looking up the rain swept street of "The Loneliness of Autumn" and wondering where my road may take each day. I wasn't prepared for the blaze of color or the depth of feeling when I tore the boxing open at delivery even though I had looked at the painting on the internet dozens of times before purchasing. It was like seeing and hearing Louis Armstrong in person for the first time after just listening to him on recordings. Some times it even awakens the urge to pick up my horn and blow a few choruses straight at the painting expecting it to blow a chorus or two back at me. The man is a magician.
