WHITE SCARF - Oil Painting On Canvas By Leonid Afremov

WHITE SCARF — A quiet close-up portrait shaped by softness, contrast, and enveloping folds. The figure’s face emerges from a voluminous white scarf, creating an intimate study of presence and retreat.

Overlapping ivory and white folds sweep across the foreground and rise around the face, while loose dark strands cross the forehead and cheek. Pale blue and deep navy brushwork surrounds the subject, adding cool atmospheric depth. Warm peach and brown tones enliven the complexion, set against the scarf’s restrained palette. Broad, layered strokes and pronounced palette-knife texture give the surface expressive movement, while diffuse illumination keeps the mood sheltered and contemplative. The subdued gaze, directed toward the viewer or slightly downward, reinforces the work’s introspective character.

Its vertical portrait focus suits a bedroom, reading nook, or quiet hallway where a contemplative accent can anchor the room. The combination of white textile forms, blue tonal variation, and dark hair creates a versatile visual rhythm that works with both minimal and richly layered interiors. Particularly appealing to collectors drawn to tactile painterly surfaces, intimate portraiture, and cool, meditative compositions, it brings a sense of stillness without losing visual energy.
