TWISTED FLIGHT - Oil Painting On Canvas By Leonid Afremov

Five airborne figures gather in a revolving tension before Twisted Flight opens into a vision of motion without arrival. Their circling formation feels less like a procession than a moment suspended between departure and return, where direction keeps changing and no single bird commands the whole passage.

The broad golden bird crossing the upper right gives the movement its first surge, while the smaller figures seem to catch and redirect it. Together they suggest a shared instinct - not orderly flight, but an alert, shifting accord in which each presence alters the course of the others.

Against the deep violet and blue atmosphere, the pale birds carry a different register of feeling. Their lighter forms appear briefly released from the darker field, as if distance has made them visible without making them separate. The result is dramatic, yet it resists a fixed story.

Dark eyes and pointed beaks keep the birds lucid within the swirl, lending their passage a touch of purpose. They may be leaving, returning, or simply turning through the same charged instant; the work leaves that uncertainty active, held in the luminous collision of gold, lavender, and night-toned color.
