TRAVERTINE POOLS — A serene waterscape unfolds in luminous layers, inviting the eye to follow turquoise pools as they descend through a richly textured landscape. Cool water, pale stone, and warm earthen rock create a refreshing sense of natural harmony.
Rounded basins overlap across the scene, forming a terraced arrangement that extends toward the upper center. Small waterfalls thread between the pools, with a prominent cascade spilling through the lower center and adding lively diagonal movement. Pale cream edges glow against blue-gray formations, while warm ochre and rust-orange rock brings depth and contrast. Broad, expressive brushstrokes soften the forms and give the water and surrounding terrain an immersive, impressionistic character. Bright diffuse light rests across the water surfaces, emphasizing their aqua and turquoise tones.
The wide horizontal composition suits a wall where it can introduce openness and visual flow. Its combination of tranquil water and energetic movement works naturally in living spaces, relaxation areas, hospitality settings, or anywhere a refreshing landscape presence is desired. The layered pools draw the gaze inward, while the balanced palette offers both calm and warmth.

Across its descending basins, Travertine Pools turns flowing water into a meditation on renewal, where each quiet level seems to gather brightness before releasing it onward. The rounded forms resist a fixed horizon, drawing the eye through a sequence of pauses and gentle departures. Its serenity is not static; it depends on movement, on water continually crossing the boundaries that contain it.
The lower cascade gives this imagined landscape a pulse, while the pools beyond recede toward a softened distance. Pale stone edges catch the diffuse light, suggesting places shaped by time yet held briefly in perfect balance. The work invites a feeling of arrival without fixing the destination, as though calm here is discovered through attention rather than escape.
Warm ochre and rust-colored formations press against the cooler water, bringing a subtle tension to the scene. The darker mass at the right prevents the openness from becoming weightless, giving the illuminated basins something to move away from and return toward. In that interplay, the landscape feels less like a secluded refuge than a living passage between shelter and release.
