TOWER OF MIRRORS - Oil Painting On Canvas By Leonid Afremov

At the center of this charged horizon, Tower of Mirrors rises as a meeting point between distance and attention. Its dark vertical presence seems less like a destination than a measure, dividing the surrounding expanse while drawing the eye toward the warmth gathered behind it. The work holds the feeling of a threshold that cannot be crossed simply by looking.

Small illuminated openings punctuate the structure, suggesting moments of human presence without resolving into a story. They feel like brief assurances within an otherwise uncertain ascent - signs that something is awake inside the severe geometry, even as the surrounding sky remains vast and unsettled.

Below, the form returns in reflection, though not with perfect certainty. This repetition turns the image inward: what appears solid above becomes elusive beneath, as if the tower were sustained equally by its own presence and by the thought of it. The reflected glow gives that ambiguity a measure of tenderness.

Around the central dark, violet and crimson deepen into blue, while a concentrated amber light presses through from the right. The contrast lends the scene its surreal gravity, balancing isolation against illumination. Rather than offering a fixed landmark, the structure becomes an occasion for considering how distance can sharpen what remains only partly seen.
