At the edge of an unknown passage, Time Travellers gathers four figures beneath a sky that seems to have outgrown the earthly world. Their shared stance suggests neither arrival nor departure, but a pause before choosing what kind of future they are willing to enter. The small house beyond them offers a faint counterpoint - familiar shelter held within an immense and unsettled elsewhere.
The figures are seen from behind, withholding expression and biography, which lets their silence become part of the work’s mystery. Reflections lengthen below them, making the water feel less like a boundary than a second sky, where the travelers’ presence is briefly doubled. The arrangement carries the gravity of witnesses who have encountered something too vast to explain.
Above, scattered planets and elongated forms turn the heavens into a place of possible directions rather than a fixed destination. The great ringed presence in the upper right presses the scene toward wonder, while the warm horizon keeps it tethered to human scale. Between those forces, the group stands in a state of attentive uncertainty - alert to the promise that the unfamiliar may also contain a way home.
