THROUGH CLOUD STAIRS HAZE - FRAMED

Suspended between ascent and uncertainty, Through Cloud Stairs Haze turns a staircase into a passage toward time rather than a route to any settled destination. Its uneven steps rise through an atmosphere without ground or horizon, making progress feel provisional - each level appears to offer direction while withholding arrival. The upward movement carries a gentle strangeness, as if thought itself had taken architectural form.

At the staircase’s end, a clock enclosed within a domed cage gives the ascent a more complicated charge. Time is present, clearly marked, yet held at a distance, suggesting not simple passage but a tension between freedom and containment. The smaller barred form to the left echoes this idea without resolving it, like a reduced version of a question that has already become part of the surrounding sky.

The vivid shifts between turquoise, coral, lavender, and pale cloud forms keep the scene buoyant rather than ominous. Against that brightness, the dark bars and segmented platforms feel less like warnings than fragments of an impossible order. The work leaves its figures suspended in a moment where wonder and limitation coexist, and where looking upward may be both an escape and another way of measuring what cannot be reached.
