This painting looks tridimensional and has a lot of heavy textures
THICK LAYER presents expanded abstract shapes floating in a shallow space, their scale exaggerated to overwhelm the viewer, rendered at an exaggerated scale that fills the canvas.
Thick palette knife strokes build ridges, edges, and layered surfaces that give the paint a sculptural quality.
The composition balances raw energy with controlled structure.

At the threshold of pressure and release, Thick Layer turns abstraction into a crowded field where forms seem to press forward without becoming fixed things. Its enlarged shapes suggest a moment when order is being assembled and unsettled at once, giving the work an alert, almost physical presence. Warm clusters of orange, red, and yellow intensify this sense of contained force, as if energy were gathering faster than the composition can organize it.
The close interlocking of forms leaves little distance for the eye to rest, yet the composition never loses its underlying balance. Blue and teal passages create a countercurrent to the warmer bursts, introducing depth and restraint without calming the work entirely. What emerges is less a scene than a sustained negotiation between expansion and control - a space where instability feels deliberate, and where each shape seems to test how much pressure the whole can hold.
