THE RAIN OF SHATTERED STARS - oil painting on canvas by Leonid Afremov

Between dark mountain shoulders, The Rain of Shattered Stars opens toward a distant blue radiance, where the valley seems less like a destination than a passage into uncertainty. Its winding center draws the eye forward while the surrounding peaks hold the scene in a suspended, watchful stillness. The scattered lights overhead suggest a sky breaking into fragments, yet they also lend the darkness a sense of direction.

That tension deepens along the narrow blue course leading from the far valley toward the foreground. It may be read as water, reflection, or an illuminated route, and its ambiguity keeps the landscape inward rather than purely geographic. The farther it recedes, the more the scene feels governed by distance - a place where arrival remains possible but never complete.

Gold and pale blue points continue through the sky and lower view, binding the heights to the valley in a single field of light. Against the indigo and violet darkness, they carry a fragile persistence, as though the landscape were gathering remnants of something vast and unseen. The result is dramatic without becoming conclusive: a nocturnal world balanced between revelation and mystery.
