about this painting:

Why we love travelling

Every city of the world is uniquely beautiful. Visiting a foreign city is like getting to another world. Everything there is so familiar yet so different. Walking down its streets, breathing in its air and feeling its rhythm gives you a feeling that’s hard to compare to anything you experienced before. That’s why we love traveling so much. It gives us a much-need break from our daily routine, provides us with fresh impressions and inspires us to new achievements. A wonderful artist named Leonid Afremov is living proof of that. Being an avid traveler, he often visits foreign countries and commemorates his emotions on canvas. Having created dozens of dazzling cityscapes showing different cities from over the world, he always amazes us with bright colors and romantic images. Sparkling with a rainbow of hues and magic lights, his paintings give us a feeling of being somewhere we’ve never actually been to.

Visions of night Luxembourg

The painting takes us to a desolate prospect somewhere in Luxembourg. There are practically no people around; the street bathes in rich lantern glow and colorful reflections after the rain. The lovely play of light fills the canvas with bright sparkles and enigmatic shadows. But the central place is devoted to a bed of red roses shimmering romantically under the lamp posts. Gentle and beautiful, they instantly catch your eye with their grace and splendor. You can nearly feel the tenderness of their petals and breathe in their subtle aroma. Using an unusual palette knife technique, the artist covers the canvas with large, loose strokes that echo each other and create a scintillating surface, so vivid that you can almost believe you are standing right at that very spot. This spectacular and elegant cityscape will make a fine addition to any interior, including your own!

Interesting facts about Luxembourg

  1. The size of Luxembourg is less than 1000 square miles. That makes it one of the tiniest European states.
  2. However, that doesn’t prevent Luxembourg from being the second wealthiest country on the planet.
  3. It is also one of the safest world’s states. There are practically no crimes here and only two jails.
  4. The country also boasts the widest list of wines in the world with over 2,200 different sorts available to order in restaurants.
  5. Luxembourg is a country where you can legally be euthanized. Assisted suicide is also legal here.

As you can see, Luxembourg is a pretty interesting country to visit. If you haven’t been here yet, this painting by Leonid Afremov might just inspire you to take that trip!

I just received the painting, Blue Fog in the Forest. It is stunning! It is even more beautiful than the picture on the website. When I stand in front of the painting, I feel like I'm walking in the forest. This is the 4th Afremov painting I have, and I love them all. Thank you for bringing your wonderful art to the mainstream population, Mr. Afremov.
