THE FLOATING ISLANDS OF SERAPHIA - Oil Painting On Canvas By Leonid Afremov

Suspended between cloud and open sky, The Floating Islands of Seraphia imagines a world released from ordinary gravity, where land becomes a refuge rather than a fixed boundary. Its central island, crowned by a spreading tree, feels less like a destination than a moment of balance - a self-contained realm held aloft in luminous air. The surrounding fragments extend that feeling outward, suggesting that belonging can exist in separate yet connected forms.

Waterfalls slipping from the island edges introduce a gentle paradox. They fall continuously, but never seem to arrive, turning motion into a kind of suspension and giving the scene its serene, otherworldly rhythm. Pools and waterways remain gathered above the clouds, as though the landscape has preserved its own source of renewal beyond the reach of any visible ground.

The smaller islands deepen the sense of an archipelago without a sea, each carrying its own tree and dense growth into the open blue. Together they evoke a fragile abundance - not untouched wilderness, but a living order sustained by distance, light, and balance. The image leaves the imagination hovering between discovery and return, as if these elevated landscapes belong to a world glimpsed only when familiar limits briefly loosen.
