THAI STREET PARADE - Oil Painting On Canvas By Leonid Afremov

A procession gathers its force in the moment before sound becomes memory, and Thai Street Parade carries that suspended energy into a world of amber haze and receding figures. Seen from behind, the participants move toward a brightness that remains just beyond definition, their shared direction suggesting ceremony without fixing its purpose. The warm glow feels welcoming and elusive at once, as though the group is entering a passage known only through rhythm.

The drums give the gathering a physical pulse, while the thin sticks held by several figures imply music still waiting to be heard. Their loose red-orange garments distinguish the nearest participants without separating them from the larger movement. In the distance, softened forms gather into the atmosphere, making the procession feel less like a single event than an enduring communal gesture.

Because no face is offered, the work leaves identity open and places attention on belonging, movement, and the strange intimacy of following. The dark ground beneath the figures anchors them, yet the radiance ahead seems to draw them onward. What remains is a charged interval between departure and arrival, where collective motion becomes both celebration and mystery.
