SYMPHONY OF SHAPES - Oil Painting On Canvas By Leonid Afremov

Within its charged field of shifting contrasts, Symphony of Shapes turns abstraction into a study of pressure, release, and movement. Forms gather densely without settling into a recognizable world, creating the sense of energies crossing and briefly holding their ground. The work feels less like a fixed arrangement than a moment of continual change, where intensity is carried through relationships rather than named subjects.

Cool depths of blue, violet, and magenta give the upper reaches a concentrated, nocturnal force, while warmer reds and oranges gradually assert themselves below. Small luminous interruptions prevent the darker passages from becoming closed or silent. Their recurrence suggests a pulse moving through the composition, linking separate areas without reducing them to a single message.

At the lower center, a vertical flare of yellow and white becomes a point of emergence within the surrounding turbulence. It may read as illumination, rupture, or simply the place where competing rhythms briefly converge. The surrounding forms remain too active to confirm any one interpretation, preserving the work’s dramatic openness and allowing its vitality to remain unresolved.
