SUSPENDED PRIVATE depicts a single ripe banana resting on a textured surface, skin catching warm highlights. Thick palette knife strokes give the surface a physical, sculpted presence.
Paint is layered and partially scraped back, allowing underlying tones to emerge and interact with light.
The scene feels intimate and tactile, encouraging slow, reflective viewing.

A solitary presence invites attention without asking to be explained. In Suspended Private, the banana becomes an unexpectedly self-contained subject, held between abundance and restraint. Its simple, horizontal form carries a playful dignity, while the dark marks along its peel keep the image from becoming too pristine. The title suggests privacy not as secrecy, but as a brief interval in which an ordinary thing is allowed to occupy the whole field of thought.
The surrounding pale atmosphere gives that pause a slightly suspended quality, as though familiar meaning has loosened its usual grip. Warm highlights gather across the fruit's center, making it feel present yet strangely removed from daily use. What emerges is not a still life of possession, but a study in attention - how a modest, recognizable form can become bold, intimate, and faintly mysterious when nothing else competes with it.
