This painting looks tridimensional and has a lot of heavy textures
SUSPENDED LOW depicts ancient Celtic symbols layered over a weathered surface, lines looping endlessly. Thick palette knife strokes give the surface a physical, sculpted presence.
Paint is layered and partially scraped back, allowing underlying tones to emerge and interact with light.
The scene feels intimate and tactile, encouraging slow, reflective viewing.

Its interwoven geometry holds Suspended Low in a tension between order and entanglement. The compact knot of rounded bands suggests a sign or remembered structure whose meaning remains just beyond recognition, while its near symmetry gives the form a measured, almost ceremonial gravity. Dark diamond-shaped openings interrupt the continuity, creating brief passages into uncertainty. Rust and ochre accents lend the arrangement an earthy, timeworn presence without turning it into a fixed relic.
The work rewards attention to its crossings, where each band seems to pass beneath another and return altered. This repeated folding inward makes the composition feel less like a static emblem than a thought continually reorganizing itself. Its somber blue-gray and brown atmosphere supports that reading, holding the geometry between the ancient and the unresolved. The small pale mark near the lower edge acts almost as a quiet remainder - a trace that resists being absorbed into the larger pattern.
