SUSPENDED FADING depicts the goddess Aphrodite rising from the sea, skin glowing under warm light, hair flowing in slow motion. Thick palette knife strokes give the surface a physical, sculpted presence.
Paint is layered and partially scraped back, allowing underlying tones to emerge and interact with light.
The scene feels intimate and tactile, encouraging slow, reflective viewing.

Between departure and arrival, Suspended Fading holds its central figure in a moment of becoming. Aphrodite appears less as a fixed mythic presence than as a force released from gravity, arms extended toward an unseen horizon while the surrounding blue keeps shifting around her. The lifted body suggests freedom, yet the reflection beneath her introduces a counterweight - an echo that remains tied to what she may be leaving behind.
Her flowing white dress expands like a brief weather system, turning movement into something almost ceremonial. Long hair streaming to one side gives the scene a directional pull, while the illuminated figure seems to gather warmth from an otherwise uncertain world. The image does not settle on triumph or escape; it preserves the interval in which transformation is felt before it can be named.
That suspended interval becomes most poignant in the pale disturbance below her. It resembles a memory of the figure, but also a second self still answering the gesture above. Against the deeper blues, the reflection keeps the ascent from becoming absolute, suggesting that renewal may depend on carrying an earlier form forward rather than abandoning it entirely.
