STILL STATE - FRAMED

Against the pull between order and disruption, Still State presents a tightly held field where stability feels provisional rather than complete. A narrow white axis at the center gives the surrounding structure a moment of pause, yet it also divides the work into forces that seem unwilling to settle. The darkness gathered around it lends the composition a sense of pressure, as though clarity has been made visible only by what resists it.

The surrounding blocks suggest a language of boundaries, but their balance is never fully secure. Orange, yellow, and red passages flare within the darker arrangement like sudden assertions, bringing urgency to an otherwise measured design. These brighter interruptions do not dissolve the structure; they make its discipline more charged, allowing restraint and intensity to occupy the same emotional space.

Near symmetry offers an appearance of control, while the uneven distribution of light keeps that control open to question. The work can be approached as a meditation on holding oneself together without mistaking stillness for peace. Its central interval remains less a conclusion than a passage - a place where opposing pressures briefly align, then begin to move apart again.
