Spiral Garden - Oil Painting On Canvas By Leonid Afremov

Rooted in repetition, the ornamental tree in Spiral Garden turns growth into a contemplative rhythm, where each rounded canopy seems to gather time rather than simply occupy space. Its branching form rises with the assurance of something alive, yet the repeated rings and spirals give that vitality a measured, almost ceremonial order.

The dark trunk provides a steady center for this tension between wildness and design. Around it, broad foliage forms overlap like recurring thoughts, while the warm ochre field allows the tree to feel suspended between an earthly garden and an imagined emblem of renewal. Nothing resolves into a single symbol; the image remains open to shifting associations.

At the lower edges, small pale blossoms appear along slender branches, introducing a note of delicacy beneath the larger ornamental forms. Their presence makes the tree feel less monumental and more attentive, as if its abundance depends on these quiet, easily overlooked signs of continuation.

The turquoise band beneath the canopy brings a different cadence into the composition, its segmented pattern suggesting a threshold rather than a firm boundary. Above it, the circular forms continue beyond the edges, implying that the garden’s ordered vitality is larger than the view allows - a world of recurrence held briefly within this concentrated, whimsical vision.
