SOMERSAULT - Oil Painting On Canvas By Leonid Afremov

SOMERSAULT — A vivid study in motion, SOMERSAULT captures the charged instant of a body turning through space. Its bold diagonal energy and saturated color create an immediate sense of movement, tension, and release.

A pale, elongated human figure sweeps from the upper center toward the lower edge, bent and rotating amid an all-over field of energetic marks. Cream, white, peach, and pale pink define the central form, with a small reddish detail near its upper portion. Around it, fiery orange, red, yellow, cobalt, teal, green, violet, and black strokes surge in layered directions. Thick, broken marks produce a richly tactile surface, while mosaic-like passages and palette-knife-like gestures keep the eye moving across the image. Deep blue and green areas gather toward the lower and left sections, contrasting with the warmer orange and red activity above.

Ideal for spaces that welcome expressive color and a strong focal presence, this dynamic composition can energize a living room, creative studio, reading space, or contemporary office. The diagonal figure introduces visual rhythm, while the luminous center provides balance within the surrounding intensity. SOMERSAULT suits interiors built around dramatic accents, abstract forms, and art that rewards repeated viewing.
