Across its drifting fields of color, Soft Soft presents abstraction as a state of becoming, where forms seem to gather only to loosen again. The composition moves between cool depths and a luminous central passage, creating the sense of thought passing through changing weather. Its softness is not merely gentle; it carries a quiet instability, as though serenity were continually being reshaped from within.
The sweeping bands invite the eye to follow movement rather than search for an object or scene. A deep magenta presence at the right interrupts the otherwise fluid progression, giving the work a note of insistence. Around it, lavender, pale blue, cream, and pink remain open to differing associations - cloud, water, memory, or something less nameable. The painting holds these possibilities in suspension, offering calm without resolving into stillness.
