Within a restless field of interlocking forms, Soft Shape turns the idea of the brain into a vivid study of connection, pressure, and release. Rounded bands fold toward one another without settling into a fixed structure, suggesting thought as something continuous rather than neatly contained. The dark intervals between them give the composition its tension, allowing bursts of yellow, coral, turquoise, and violet to feel like impulses crossing an unseen interior.
The work’s energy is not simply exuberant; it carries the concentration of a mind trying to hold many currents at once. A curling form near the center seems to gather the surrounding movement, while the larger cluster remains open to competing directions. This balance between cohesion and overflow gives the painting a distinctly inward charge, as if clarity and confusion were briefly sharing the same space.
