SLOW MOTION 2

A charged balance of opposing currents gives Slow Motion 2 its distinctive tension, as if movement has been held at the instant before it resolves. The work does not offer a scene to enter, but a shifting field in which force gathers, collides, and briefly finds equilibrium. Its intensity comes from the feeling that every direction remains open.

Near the center, the reddish-orange rounded form acts less like a subject than an anchor for the surrounding energy. Dark vertical marks interrupt its warmth, introducing a note of restraint within the surrounding surge. It may suggest a moment of concentration - not stillness exactly, but motion becoming conscious of itself.

Across the middle, a warm diagonal passage cuts through the cooler blues and violets, giving the composition a sense of passage without naming where it leads. The arrangement feels temporal rather than spatial: a sequence of pressure, release, and renewed momentum. Turquoise forms pressing across the upper field keep that movement from settling into a single reading.

The deeper blue and indigo areas lend the work a nocturnal gravity, while flashes of gold, cream, and red keep it alert and unsettled. Its abstract language allows emotion to remain unresolved, suspended between exhilaration and apprehension. What endures is the sensation of arrested speed - an instant held long enough to become an atmosphere.
