SILENT MIRROR - Oil Painting On Canvas By Leonid Afremov

At the heart of this scene, Silent Mirror turns a waterfront into a threshold between the witnessed world and something less certain. The upright glow at its center feels less like an object than a sudden opening, holding the surrounding darkness at a measured distance. Its warmth suggests arrival, though the scene remains too strange to settle into reassurance.

Beyond that luminous axis, the distant skyline appears suspended between habitation and dream. Scattered lights imply a human presence without offering any particular story, while the vast, shifting sky makes the city seem temporary - a place glimpsed during a moment of emotional weather.

The water carries the central radiance outward in broken vertical traces, as if the reflection were trying to translate an inward revelation into the wider world. That imperfect echo gives the scene its contemplative tension: what appears clear at the source becomes unsettled as it travels.

Along the lower edge, dark grasses form a watchful boundary between solid ground and the open expanse beyond. They keep the image from becoming pure escape, anchoring its mystery in the immediate world while the cool sky and intense central light continue to pull in opposite directions.
