This painting looks tridimensional and has a lot of heavy textures
SHATTERED RITUAL explores a rustic pattern echoing traditional folk motifs, glowing with warm highlights, with heavy impasto strokes through layered palette knife textures and sculptural strokes.
Bold impasto ridges catch shifting light, while scraped passages reveal underlying hues and tonal variation.
The composition invites close viewing, highlighting movement, contrast, and expressive material presence.

Across its fractured floral field, Shattered Ritual 2 turns repetition into a source of tension and renewal. Four radiating forms hold the composition in a restless balance, as if a familiar pattern has been recalled imperfectly and made vivid through interruption. The warm blooms at opposite corners answer the cooler forms across from them, creating a charged rhythm rather than a settled symmetry.
The dark centers give each flower-like form a sense of inward gravity, while the angular petals press outward with energetic insistence. At the crossing point, small pale accents draw the opposing color families together without resolving their difference. This meeting feels less like harmony than a moment of negotiation, where opposing impulses briefly share the same pulse.
The work’s drama lies in its refusal to let the floral language become gentle or decorative. Deep teal and scarlet carry a ceremonial intensity, while flashes of yellow, cream, and light blue suggest brief openings within the pattern. What emerges is an abstract ritual caught between continuity and rupture - recognizable enough to evoke tradition, unsettled enough to keep that tradition alive.
