SERENADE OF COLORS - Oil Painting On Canvas By Leonid Afremov

At the edge of evening, Serenade of Colors turns a waterfront promenade into a place where public brightness and private reverie meet. The illuminated buildings hold their orderly presence, yet the dark water loosens that certainty, carrying their lights into shifting reflections. What appears settled above becomes more elusive below, as if the night were reconsidering the city in real time.

The line of lamps draws the eye toward the distant dome, giving the scene a gentle sense of passage without assigning it a destination. Small figures move within this radiance as temporary inhabitants of a larger rhythm - pauses, crossings, and shared attention beneath the vastness of the sky. Their scale makes the surrounding architecture feel both welcoming and slightly remote.

Warm windows and lamps gather against deep nocturnal blues, while the water answers in broken bands of color. The contrast is not simply between light and darkness; it suggests two kinds of presence, one structured by streets and buildings, the other released into reflection. The waterfront therefore feels suspended between arrival and departure, holding its luminous stillness only for a moment.
