SANDSTONE WAVE — A vigorous abstract composition where sweeping bands of color gather into a powerful, wave-like movement. Burnt orange, coral, cream, and blue create a vivid visual rhythm, balancing warmth with depth and contrast.
Curving forms surge diagonally from the lower left toward the upper right, building around a dramatic central opening. Deep navy and near-black strokes define the loop, while cobalt blue appears through the surrounding space. Broad orange, peach, and cream arcs crest across the upper area and sweep through the lower half, creating a sense of continuous motion. Layered, ridge-like brushwork gives the surface a pronounced tactile character, with thick gestural marks emphasizing the painting’s energetic presence. A small light-colored accent near the lower-right area adds a subtle point of visual punctuation.
Its dynamic composition brings movement and color to contemporary interiors, working especially well where bold abstract art can serve as a focal point. The warm orange and coral tones add vitality, while navy, cobalt, cream, and near-black introduce structure and balance. The strong diagonal flow encourages the eye to travel across the surface, making the piece engaging from across a room and rewarding closer attention to its layered strokes. A compelling choice for spaces seeking dramatic, textural, and expressive wall art.

The sweeping convergence of color in Sandstone Wave turns abstraction into a study of momentum held briefly in suspension. Broad arcs drive upward and inward, yet the dark central opening interrupts their rush, creating a pause that feels less like rest than pressure gathering. The work’s energy is not simply expansive; it folds back on itself, as if every advance carries the memory of a return.
That tension gives the composition its emotional charge. Burnt orange presses against deep blue with the force of opposing currents, while the pale upper arcs offer no resolution so much as a fleeting crest. The eye is drawn through the central opening and back into the surrounding movement, where direction remains active and unsettled. What emerges is an atmosphere of transformation - not a scene, but a moment when intensity becomes form.
