ROOM OF STARS - Oil Painting On Canvas By Leonid Afremov

Within this nocturnal interior, Room of Stars turns the bedroom into an inward cosmos, where rest seems to take place beneath a sky that has entered the home. The luminous spiral above the room draws ordinary furnishings into a larger, dreamlike order, while the warm lamps preserve a sense of human nearness. It feels less like an escape from daily life than a moment when the familiar becomes briefly immense.

The windows introduce another kind of uncertainty: beyond them, blue darkness and orange light suggest a world continuing outside, close enough to be felt but not clearly reached. Against that distant glow, the bed and chairs carry the quiet intimacy of a room awaiting thought rather than conversation. The work holds these two conditions together, making shelter feel both reassuring and permeable.

Throughout, cool nocturnal color is interrupted by small passages of warmth, so the atmosphere never settles into pure stillness. Reflections across the floor extend the ceiling’s imagined weather downward, allowing the room to seem suspended between interior memory and open night. The result is a private, surreal space in which wonder does not replace domestic life, but gathers around it.
