ROMANTIC SCENE depicts a couple standing under glowing park lights near still water in autumn with fiery leaves covering the ground with bold reflections rippling across the water, rendered with bold palette knife strokes and saturated color.
Thick layers of paint create glowing reflections on water and ground, emphasizing texture and movement.
The silhouettes remain faceless, focusing attention on mood, season, and shared presence.

At the water’s edge, Romantic Scene turns an evening walk into a suspended encounter, where closeness matters more than identity and the surrounding park seems to recede from awareness. Two faceless figures stand beneath the lamps, held together by the warmth between them and by the shared stillness of the shore. Their presence feels immediate yet unclaimed, open to the tenderness of a moment that needs no explanation.
The water carries the scene into a more uncertain register. Broken bands of orange, pink, blue, and white extend beneath the lights, as though the evening were being remembered rather than simply witnessed. These reflections do not mirror the figures directly; instead, they suggest how companionship can alter the atmosphere around it, making darkness feel inhabited without dispelling its mystery.
A large shadowed tree gathers the left side of the composition, giving the meeting a private threshold, while the lamps draw the eye toward a distant continuation along the shore. The couple remains near the foreground, neither arriving nor departing, suspended between the intimacy of the present and the possibility of what follows. Autumn’s fiery ground lends the scene a fleeting richness, but the emotional center remains their quiet decision to stand together.
