An encounter with inward scrutiny gives Reflected Self its particular tension, holding recognition just beyond certainty. The frontal face seems less like a fixed identity than a shifting field of awareness, where bright amber and yellow planes press against cooler blues and violets. A single, sharply attentive eye anchors this instability, suggesting a self that observes even as it changes. The work's drama lies in that divided perception - intimate, exposed, and never entirely resolved.
The partial features resist becoming a complete portrait, allowing the face to feel assembled from competing inner viewpoints rather than presented as a finished likeness. Light gathers across the central planes while the darker edge recedes into ambiguity, deepening the sense of a consciousness turned inward. What emerges is not a declaration of who someone is, but a sustained moment of recognition in which certainty breaks into several possible selves.
