Rainy wedding

Wedding superstitions

It would be impossible to leave such a huge event in every person’s life as wedding without any superstitions. In fact, there are so many of them connected with every part of it: ceremony, preparation, a bride, a groom, parents and their characters, their behavior and even the weather on the wedding day! Let’s find out what some of the superstitions are and how they originated.

The origin of the superstition

There aren’t many things that could spoil the wedding day as much as the rain. The superstition connected with it roots back to ancient times. If nowadays most of young couples prefer having weddings in summer or spring, the people that originated the superstition thought it would be better to celebrate their wedding after they collected the crops. That way they would have more food and time for preparation (make a dress, buy special canvas to cover the benches and the table for their guests) and celebration itself. That’s why weddings were most commonly held in autumn. People in general used to love rain because as you might know good rain means good crops. And if it rained during the wedding it predicted a long and prosperous life for newly-weds. There’s another superstition about rain at your wedding. And you might not like it as it doesn’t bring any luck. If the rain turns into storm with thunder and lightning it’s a bad sign. One more superstition says that a groom has to avoid stepping into a puddle on the way to the ceremony. Otherwise, his married life will be, simply put, unpleasant.

Enjoy your special day

No matter what weather it is on your wedding day the best strategy is to have an umbrella and beautiful rain boots! You definitely don’t want to get wet on your special day and start your married life with a cold and a bunch of tissues instead of a wonderful honeymoon somewhere on the Caribbean Coast of Mexico. And all of the other superstitions have a tendency not to some true! That’s why it’s better not to ruin your mood and enjoy you special day to the fullest! Maybe rain at your wedding will be one of the best unexpected details and will bring a lot of beautiful pictures! And there’s always the rainbow after the rain!

This gorgeous Leonid Afremov’s painting for sale might be a great adornment for your interior and remind you of your special day (especially if it was raining that day). Testimonials
I recently purchased and received one of Leonid’s original oil paintings (Spring Emotions). The painting exactly matched the photograph that Leonid had displayed on his online store, down to every last brush stroke. It is absolutely breathtaking and I can’t thank Leonid enough for selling me this masterpiece! The customer service from his sons David and Boris was excellent; they spent considerable time with me on their online chat facility before I bought the painting and made extra effort to make me feel at ease when the delivery of the painting was delayed by an extra week due to drying issues (the original had only just been painted the week before). Living in the UK and with Leonid and his family based in the US / Mexico, it can be a slightly nerve wracking experience taking a leap of faith and buying online, without actually seeing the painting in front of you. Based on my experience, I can whole-heartedly recommend buying from afremov.com. I hope my testimonial encourages a few more people to buy from this wonderful artist! My special thanks to Leonid and his sons. Nick (Reading, United Kingdom).

What a genius! It is so sad there are tons of duplicates sold on ebay and similar stores. May be it is not easy to prosecute the manufacturers in China. But isn't it possible to file suit against resellers like ebay and other re-sellers in USA, selling duplicate paintings? Since each hand painting is different from another, may be it cannot be considered as duplication. Any thoughts

There are no words to describe the stunning splash of color these works of art have given to our home! The paintings we received today are absolutely gorgeous! The photos online don't do justice to actually having the paintings in hand. The colors are vivid and the texture is amazing!! We purchased Rain's Rustle and Melody of the Night. These are the first original paintings we have ever owned. I know we are going to purchase more! The work that you, Leonid Afremov have created, is amazing!! The communication during the process is awesome! The pieces arrived in perfect shape! We truly love them beyond words! We are so happy! Thank you..thank you for sharing your talents with the world! You are a truly gifted artist and these pieces will be treasured forever! I hope one day we can visit your studio! Thank you again for our gorgeous works of art! Nancy and Ken Kunickis
