about this painting:
Central Park 3
And let the whole world wait
Look at this painting of people in a park. First of all it is a couple in love. They had a unique opportunity to visit the central park of New York on a delightful autumn day. And the rainy weather does not scare them at all – they turned to be in the center of the rain and the City bustle, but neither one nor the other can distract them from each other. They are literally absorbed in this unforgettable communication and perhaps feel the happiest people in the world. In this painting they are the only people that feel comfortable and cozy. As for the rest, they feel the coming autumn and bad weather; they are trying to find a shelter from this cold autumn rain as soon as possible. This is the three business people on the left and three young women on the right. The ones on the left can be called businessmen or students. One of them uses their own folder instead of an umbrella. Clearly, his dress looks formal – he is dressed in jeans, shirt and jacket. The style of clothing of his companions is also identical. The small man in front of them has the air of a representative of the intelligentsia - his colorful scarf and beige suit are evident marks. A group of women on the right are ordinary townspeople. Engaged in communication, they hastily go somewhere trying to find place for all the three of the under the small umbrella.
Of the autumn landscape, we are reminded by the yellowed trees depicted on the sides of the painting, whereas in the background are the famous skyscrapers of New York. They cannot be confused with anything!
Just feel this unforgettable atmosphere of this Big Apple!
The heart of New York
It doesn’t matter whether you’ve been to the Central Park or not – the facts below might be interesting for the both groups of the readers. We really hope that in the list below you’ll find many new facts which will a kind of guide for you during your future visits to the park:
- Central Park was the first public landscape park in the United States. Supporters of the park (it was in the 1850s) were mostly merchants and landowners - they admired the parks of Paris and London and urged the creation of a similar rest place in New York which was to improve the city's image.
- Central Park is literally central since it is located in the center of Manhattan Island.
- Central Park has a clear rectangular shape. Since the central part of Manhattan is just perpendicularly vertical avenues and horizontal streets, the Park, located in the center of the island of Manhattan, also has a right rectangle shape.
