RAINBOW THREADS - Oil Painting On Canvas By Leonid Afremov

Against the surrounding pressure of darkness, Rainbow Threads turns movement into a study of convergence, where separate forces gather without fully becoming one. The luminous strands seem to carry different intensities of feeling - urgency, warmth, restraint - yet their crossing refuses a single emotional key. What emerges is not calm resolution, but the charged moment before direction becomes fate.

At the center, white-gold brightness gathers like a current strong enough to draw everything toward it. Blue and teal passages retain a cooler distance, while the deeper reds and copper tones suggest heat held in reserve. Their diagonal sweep gives the work an unmistakable momentum, as though the image were registering several inner impulses at once rather than offering a fixed scene.

The narrow bright strand that bends toward the lower edge complicates the sense of collective movement. It appears to break from the central force, though it may equally be its continuation - a small divergence that keeps the composition open. Beneath the drama, the surrounding blackness allows each crossing to feel temporary, suspended between collision and release.
