about this painting:
Rain of love and joy
Weather-inspired life
Have you ever tried to compare your life with anything in the world? Rather unusual, but strong metaphor: our life is like weather, and everything depends on our attitude towards it. There are moments of joy, when we are inspired by something, and they may be compared to sunny days with clear sky and sun twinkles. When we have cloudy mood, drops are falling from our eyes and make our face wet, just like rain washes the streets with refreshing moisture. Seasons may be compared to the flow of human life, with its beginning in spring, when the nature is waking up, and ending in winter with white snow, like a hair of an elderly person. Often nice weather helps us feel positive about everything that is going on with us, and natural disasters may scare us to death. But do we have to be hostages of weather and experience emotions that are expected from us? Rain can be romantic as well, and even the most desired spring warmth may bring feeling of bitter coldness and depression. Leonid Afremov is a renowned artist, and he knows how to make you believe that every season is perfect. His set of two paintings ‘Rain of love’ insists: the weather is in our hearts, not outside the window.
Difference in similarity
These two paintings are very similar to each other, and if you give a quick look, you won’t notice major differences. Still, they have pretty many uncommon traits, and we can examine them together.
1. Both artworks are created in cold palette, and the backgrounds are ranging from light blue, even almost white to deep blue, almost black. No details are included, only mixture of blue hues, created with sharp strokes of a palette knife.
2. Central images in both are women with umbrellas in bright outfit. Though, the first canvas deals with a cold period of a year, because this lady is dressed in yellow coat and jeans, and the second one wears orange blouse and a skirt.
3. In the first painting there are two passers-by, and one of them is dressed in bright clothing as well, and in the second one there are three companions of our charming lady, though they are dressed in gloomy costumes. So, our ladies aren’t lonely on their road of life.
If you want to hang a thought-provoking canvas, you may get two instead of one. ‘Rain of love’ will suit practically any interior design, so don’t delay trying them on your walls.
