This painting looks tridimensional and has a lot of heavy textures
QUIET RESTING depicts abstract shapes floating in a hazy pastel atmosphere, edges softened like chalk dust. Thick palette knife strokes give the surface a physical, sculpted presence.
Paint is layered and partially scraped back, allowing underlying tones to emerge and interact with light.
The scene feels intimate and tactile, encouraging slow, reflective viewing.

Across its softened field, Quiet Resting holds a balance between suspension and gathering, as though thought has paused without becoming empty. The overlapping forms do not settle into a single arrangement; they seem to remain in gentle negotiation, allowing the eye to move between closeness and distance. A turquoise and teal cluster near the upper left introduces a quiet point of concentration within that drift.
The central grouping suggests fragments of an inner architecture, assembled less to define a place than to preserve a moment of composure. Pale intervals around the denser forms give the composition room to breathe, while the asymmetry keeps its calm from becoming static. There is a sense of attention turned inward, not withdrawn, with each shape retaining a separate presence while contributing to a larger stillness.
A darker blue-violet block toward the right offers the work its subtle counterweight, deepening the pause without breaking it. Around this anchor, lavender, cream, and muted color passages remain open to shifting associations - a remembered room, a half-formed thought, or simply the relief of being unhurried. The painting leaves that meaning deliberately unsettled, inviting contemplation that gathers slowly rather than arriving at a conclusion.
