This painting looks tridimensional and has a lot of heavy textures
QUIET LOW depicts ancient Celtic symbols layered over a weathered surface, lines looping endlessly. Thick palette knife strokes give the surface a physical, sculpted presence.
Paint is layered and partially scraped back, allowing underlying tones to emerge and interact with light.
The scene feels intimate and tactile, encouraging slow, reflective viewing.

Across its weathered field, Quiet Low turns repetition into a form of inward attention. The looping presence at its center suggests continuity without offering a clear beginning or end, while the surrounding forms feel like fragments of a language remembered rather than fully translated. Ancient Celtic associations deepen this sense of recurrence, giving the work an atmosphere of signs that have outlasted their original speaker.
The pale central arc moves through denser blocks and darker interruptions, holding the composition in a state of measured tension. It does not resolve the surrounding marks so much as gather them, allowing rust and charcoal passages to read as traces of age, hesitation, or return. The effect is contemplative without becoming solemn, as though meaning is being approached through persistence rather than explanation.
What emerges is an intimate meditation on endurance and partial memory. The forms seem close enough to recognize yet resistant to certainty, and their interlocking rhythm keeps the eye circulating instead of settling on a single conclusion. Quietly weathered and restrained, the work leaves its symbols open - less a message to decode than a pattern whose significance grows through sustained attention.
